This sort of uncovering racism or other -ism is a positional good. You don't get any credit for being half-crazy, so you have to be crazier than the next SOB to feel righteous. Anyone can support your cause when you are making sense. When Donald Trump said that there was something tragic and wrong about Floyd's death the country was unified for about 37 seconds. Can't have that. One proves loyalty to the cause by standing firm even when its position is insane.
