It turns out last year was the final ride, unless they reconstitute in future years. One year ago today I was there for what organizers billed as the last one. Joel was there too, though we didn’t happen to link up.
Anything liked by that many people usually pops up in another form. For you, it will be tradeoffs: Is this event enough like what I used to love that I can put up with extra a-holes I will encounter? Because there are a-holes everywhere, and what matters is their prominence and influence. Something will come up. You will try one or more and decide then. May you find one that works for you even if only for a season.
