You mean a preference for losing to foreign enemies rather than see Trump attain a victory? I have noticed that many of his enemies seem to be wishing for an Iranian victory over us, or (better still!) a Chinese Communist one.

Seems pretty similar. When the new Prime Minister, Reynaud, was asked about his long-standing and bitter rivalry with Edouard Daladier...
“Nevertheless,” the interviewer said, “Daladier is certainly a man who loves his country.”
“Yes,” Reynaud replied, “I believe he desires the victory of France, but he desires my defeat even more.”
Many of our present Democcrats don't even go as far as 'Desires the victory of America BUT...'
