From the Rooftops

Colonel Kurt.
Our first responders are awesome, but it takes nothing away from their heroism to point out that the title “first responder” is a misnomer. The citizens on site are the first responders. And they should be ready to respond. We all should. Personally.

Some duties of citizen should never be outsourced. If you are an able-bodied adult, it’s your duty to know how to stop the bleeding and give CPR until the pros who do it for a living arrive. And it’s your duty (and right) to defend yourself, your family, your community and your Constitution. With guns – effective guns, which sometimes means your concealed pistol and sometimes means the guns that those who want you defenseless call “assault weapons.”...

It’s your duty to be prepared to defend our community. Your duty. Yes, being a citizen of a free country is sometimes hard. Too bad. Tighten up and be ready and able to pick up a weapon. Whether it’s a riots and disaster, or whether it’s some scumbag who decides to shoot up your house of worship or a shopping mall, it’s on you.
That's it. That's right.

Probably a good idea to have a prayer on speed dial for this. "Thy rod and Thy staff," or Our Father , Who art in Heaven", or "It is a good day to die", or something- a very quick way to throw some oil on the waters of fear. Because in this instance, it is not about us anymore. Not at all. This would be the moment Samurai might call the meaning of life. A place to demonstrate true quality. "He who shall lay down his life for another..."

Forgive any misquotes, I do not have much Bible knowledge.

Great idea.

I'd never thought about the parallel to administering CPR while you wait for Paramedics- that's a great argument to use to get people to understand how waiting for the police doesn't work.

Someone who apparently was prepared- Riley Howell, who tackled the UNC shooter, was a hero. It sounds like he lived his life preparing himself for that moment. Great article here on his return to his hometown.
Another.
and one more.

Gonna need more than assault weapons. Need an army of angels, the same ones Hezekiah/Judah used against Assyria. Need an altar, the Ark of the Covenant, to function as an SOS beacon using gold/silver to light up the torch.

A few scalar touches the same ones that turned Soddom and Gomorrah to dust/salt.

Forgive any misquotes, I do not have much Bible knowledge.

The bible wasn't meant to be quoted, not even by the Catholic Church that compiled it. The entire conception of prophets is a hierarchical one based on channeling. Some souls are able to channel the knowledge of the Divine so a system of monastic teachings was setup to lead people with gurus and prophets, which ended up in what we now know as organized religion. When those humans wrote down some teachings, it was then taken as Gospel, but what made them true was their direct knowledge of the divine through channeling and downloading information from the Heaven's wi fi. It was not because they were human leaders or worshiped as gods. A serious malfunction occurred in the system designed to preserve divine light when humans got involved with it. The point was not to keep humanity under the Veil of Religious indoctrination. It was to compress the information into a zip file, although much of it would be corrupted, until it could be unzipped, unfolded, when the Quantum age arrives and knowledge is returned back after the Dark Age of humanity. In the age soon to come, everyone will be able to directly download Divine instructions and knowledge, just as they can do on the internet now. There will no longer be a need for gurus, prophets, or spiritual leaders, real or corrupt.

"Cause pain before you injure. Injure before you maim. Maim before you kill. And if you must kill, make it a clean kill. Squeeze every drop of life from the opponent. Because life is so precious, it cannot be wasted, even in death."

“Let him cut your skin, and you cut his flesh. Let him cut your flesh, and you cut his bones. Let him cut your bones, and you cut off his life.”

Not much time will be gained, O Athenians, in return for the evil name which you will get from the detractors of the city, who will say that you killed Socrates, a wise man; for they will call me wise, even although I am not wise, when they want to reproach you. If you had waited a little while, your desire would have been fulfilled in the course of nature. For I am far advanced in years, as you may perceive, and not far from death. I am speaking now not to all of you, but only to those who have condemned me to death. And I have another thing to say to them: you think that I was convicted because I had no words of the sort which would have procured my acquittal—I mean, if I had thought fit to leave nothing undone or unsaid. Not so; the deficiency which led to my conviction was not of words— certainly not. But I had not the boldness or impudence or inclination to address you as you would have liked me to do, weeping and wailing and lamenting, and saying and doing many things which you have been accustomed to hear from others, and which, as I maintain, are unworthy of me. I thought at the time that I ought not to do anything common or mean when in danger: nor do I now repent of the style of my defence; I would rather die having spoken after my manner, than speak in your manner and live. For neither in war nor yet at law ought I or any man to use every way of escaping death. Often in battle there can be no doubt that if a man will throw away his arms, and fall on his knees before his pursuers, he may escape death; and in other dangers there are other ways of escaping death, if a man is willing to say and do anything. The difficulty, my friends, is not to avoid death, but to avoid unrighteousness; for that runs faster than death. I am old and move slowly, and the slower runner has overtaken me, and my accusers are keen and quick, and the faster runner, who is unrighteousness, has overtaken them. And now I depart hence condemned by you to suffer the penalty of death,—they too go their ways condemned by the truth to suffer the penalty of villainy and wrong; and I must abide by my award—let them abide by theirs. I suppose that these things may be regarded as fated,—and I think that they are well.

-before the Athenian death assembly

This America, this war, this Earth rpg existence, can be regarded as fate, and it is going well, far better than it might have (think WW3 post apocalypse dystopia)

Socrates is a good example. He listened to his muse or Daemons, which in the Greek sense is translated to mean listening to the Spirit and the Holy Spirit in Christian terms. It is a kind of personal spiritual guidance, not salvation because the individual soul has to do the work towards Samsara.

The primitives had an interesting conception of god or gods.

To them, god was a kind of Heavenly Father, a disciplinarian, somebody who you went to to appeal for redress, goodies, and justice, much like a liege lord or parent or judge. That is how it was in primitive human societies.

The Patriarch was the King, the Ruler, the Judge, etc etc. Story of the Prodigal Son, the Father gives out the goodies and rewards.

This is yet another corruption of the knowledge of the divine using human frames. Yes, of course, David was blessed in so far as he could understand it, with things that were beneficial, which he saw as due to Divine Grace or rewards. Yet he did not understand the meaning of any of this, just as the Apostles of Yeshua did not. For why did Peter deny his guru 3 times in public if he understood? For why did the apostles disbelieve the women on the day of Resurrection if they Understood? They didn't understand jack. David didn't understand jack, which is why he killed the husband of that woman he wanted and desired.

Humanity has a hard time understanding the Divine due to the Divorce. Even David could ask the question, why does an omnipotent or omniscient being concern himself with the Sons of Man? He didn't get the answer, notice that. They understood enough to understand that they didn't get it. Humanity does not understand the Divine any more than people in 1850 would understand your smart phone functions.

This was the original idea of the militia. The colonial militias were based on the idea that every able-bodied man was responsible for the security of his community. Arming oneself was mandatory and training with the local militia was mandatory.

However, the local militias were not just military. They were also the fire brigade and performed some law enforcement duties.

The "militia of the United States" is still part of US law and it includes "all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard."

The Colonel is just reminding us that these are the duties of free citizens.

That's right. And Raven's right, too, that it's good to have worked out your prayer. We should all have a good prayer for dying well.

This is a good one-

"In my hour of darkness ,In my time of need ,
Oh Lord, grant me vision, Oh Lord, grant me speed "

"Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner."

Or just "Jesus, remember me in your kingdom," when that moment comes.
