Up the Teton Canyon

I really enjoyed this hike last year, and this year my wife was able to come along. It was a beautiful day and a fine hike — praise the day at evening— and we had a wonderful time together.

Facing into the canyon from above, you can see the peaks that you will be slowly approaching.

A panoramic view of the canyon from the junction with the Alaska Basin trail.

My wife takes photos for later paintings.

A map of the local wilderness, showing the trails.

After-hike cheer. The local offerings have a quality I really like, which may be apparent on reflection.

On a fine fall day, these mountains (and their valleys) are pretty much magic.

Gorgeous. The numbers on the trail map- they don't seem to be trail segment lengths in miles, as I'm used to seeing- perhaps trail or road numbers?

Yes, the trails are numbered as well as named. We were on trail 27, which runs through the canyon to and through the Alaska Basin.
