National Tartan Day

This is the Firefighter tartan, which I guess Tex and I can both wear. My father, were he living; my son, after me, who has also earned the right.

I could only loosely be described as a firefighter, as I rarely got a chance to hold a real hose. Mostly I was support staff. I may certainly wear a tartan, however, though I'd never dream of sporting anything other than the Colquhoun, which is the one associated with my maiden name, Kilpatrick. Apparently, in a long-ago unsavory episode, the Anglo-Norman Kilpatricks took over the Colquhoun properties.

I believe the tartan in the cartoon is the MacStadon tartan (with thanks to a friend for the suggestion and apologies to everyone else :+).

I don't know if it's recent or not, but congratulations to you and your son, Grim. You must be very proud indeed. I'll admit I'm a bit envious, it's not every son that patterns himself after his Father, not that it's wrong not to.
