Shiner used to make a nice lager branded as "Blonde", which I adored. At present the version is "Light Blonde" --a slightly less potent brew which I enjoy much less.
I've found that Lone Star doesn't deserve bad reputation that some folks think it has. It's not the best beer I've ever had, but it's by far not the worst.
