In a rambling column today, Martha Gill, one of The Guardian’s authoritarian scribes, attempts to take Dr. Jordan Peterson to task for launching Thinkspot—a new free speech-friendly social media platform.Well, thanks to the Guardian. I hadn't heard of this endeavor before now.

This was amazing: "But some debates should be shut down. For public dialogue to make any progress, it is important to recognise when a particular debate has been won and leave it there."
I guess so, for certain values of progress.
That happens in court, I guess: dispute resolution requires that we come to a conclusion of some sort, and then not revisit it unless some dire injustice is revealed. The judge won't let you keep raising the very same objection over and over again, for example; once it's been heard and settled, it's supposed to be over with 'or otherwise we'll never finish this case and the docket has a thousand more behind it.'
So really, they just want to set themselves up as judge over society, and obtain the power to rule on our motions and objections. Can't you see that if you'd accept their power to judge and rule, we could have more progress?
"Mommy said no. Now let's hear no more about it."
