I am reminded of the neighbor's dog I take out for walks. After a walk in 90 degree heat, he lies down on the cool tile floor. No rug for him- the rug is not as cool.
Oh, yes, my dogs usually want to be on the couch, but not when they've come in the house hot: then they want the cool tile floor.
