The Feast of John the Evangelist

The third day of Christmas is the feast day of the author of the Gospel according to John, the one most influenced by Greek philosophy.

or perhaps by the Essenes--some argue he was writing to disciples of John the Baptist.

Whatever.......it was John's Gospel that converted the Greeks due to his prologue "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the WOrd was God...."

"Word" in Greek is "Logos," which also had connotations of 'order'--as in 'ordered creation.' The Greeks could care less about Moses, Isaiah, (et al)--but they cared very much about 'order.'
