When a Texas woman found an unsecured M4-style rifle inside an unlocked Texas National Guard truck Monday, June 27, she took matters into her own hands by, well, taking the weapon into her own hands.“Today, I got my hands on a fully automatic weapon thanks to the stupid, irresponsible #TexasNationalGuard #OperationLonestar who left their vehicle running & unlocked with guns inside on the side of the road,” Marianna Wright tweeted Monday. Operation Lone Star is the long-term deployment of Texas National Guard troops to the US-Mexico border within the state. “Guess the truck could’ve been mine, too. #PublicSafety, #Texas Style.”
If it had been a Hummer it could have been. They don't even have keys. I don't know why they left the keys in the pickup they were using, but that's commonly done with fire/rescue people in case somebody needs to move the thing out of the way of another responding vehicle.

Kind of gutsy to tweet a felony theft, though, and use your real name.
The left believes, I think, that anything done in protest is automatically converted from "felony" to "virtuous action deserving of special praise."
She's lucky she didn't shoot herself with it, though being ARNG in country there probably wasn't a round in the chamber and the safety was also on anyway.
Take my word for it: Top is going to eat his guy alive over this.
The "finder" claims she "secured" the weapon, then later claims she didn't remove the magazine or check the chamber to ensure it was, or to render it, unloaded.
Funny idea of "securing" a weapon.
She probably doesn't know how, or understand what the word would normally mean in this context.
Supposedly she was on the phone with 911 or someone while she did it, so I suppose she had some pretense of acting in the interest of public safety or something. *shrug*
"The truck could have been mine, too" suggests she was appropriating the weapon, not just "securing" it. I'm sure she thinks she's adorable.
I would not even think to deny that her motives were trash.
