Maybe Not Everybody

Joe Biden today, repeating his campaign misstep of praising the comity he had with segregationists: "Even back in the old days when we had real segregationists... at least we'd end up eating lunch together."

Not everybody would, since the lunch counters were segregated. I guess everyone who was important to him was there, though.

An excellent point which would bother the heck out of a lot of black people, but media will work to make sure few know about it.

I should have realized earlier that Jim Clyburn is old enough to be familar with Biden's segregationist sympathies from the 1970s and that probably motivated his demand for a black woman SC nominee. Alignment with wokeness was incidental.
