What Does Reuters Imagine the President Does?

What to make of this silliness?
U.S. military officials told Reuters that Trump approved his first covert counterterrorism operation without sufficient intelligence, ground support or adequate backup preparations.

As a result, three officials said, the attacking SEAL team found itself dropping onto a reinforced al Qaeda base defended by landmines, snipers, and a larger than expected contingent of heavily armed Islamist extremists.
I'm sorry, but what does Reuters imagine the President does in reviewing a proposal for action? Do they think he reads the CONOP? Do they think he personally reviews the ISR for evidence of landmines?

Brigade commanders don't do that. These guys have no idea how this stuff works.

IF the report is true, (5% chance IMO) the "military officials" should be fired immediately.

Back to the emphasis on casualties and civilian deaths? Are we now back into the day by day casualties lists the media was so fond of during the Bush presidency, the lists that stopped on the day Obama was inaugurated?

If a bug falls off a leaf in the forest, is it Trumps fault?

I wonder if they even realize that they suddenly stopped caring about casualties when Bush left, and didn't notice them again until yesterday afternoon?

medics at the scene said, and U.S. military officials told, and three officials said, and military officials who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity, and One of the three U.S. officials said.

Not a single "source" for events on the ground that can't be independently verified is identified; only these carefully anonymous "sources" are offered up. There's no reason to believe these aren't entirely manufactured sources and the Reuters piece fabricated, colored with some independently verifiable facts to create an impression of overall truth.

This also comes against the background of the NLMSM saying it's entirely legitimate for the press to attack and delegitimize this President.

In fairness, would you believe a source from the ground? "According to Muhammad Abdul-Hassan, a ranking member of al Qaeda who survived the raid by hiding inside a dead donkey..."

Sorry, I can't find that cite in the linked-to Reuters piece. I assume you found that in a different article.

There are a couple of things about that named source. I would give it more credence than an article cynically built on solely anonymous "sources." But I'd take that particular source with a grain of salt: he's a representative of an enemy and so has a vested interest in making certain statements, so I'd have to have enough information that I could make a guess about his motive for making that statement. Along those lines, I'd also need to see the context in which the statement actually was made and compare that with the context into which that other article's author inserted it.

It was a joke, Mr. Hines.

Those military officials are Hussein Obola mines. As usual. If Trum can stay in Power on the DC Throne, that is only if he is still alive.
