According to the YouTube page, that music is from How to Train Your Dragon. They must not have used it effectively in the film, because I'm sure I saw that movie a hundred times thanks to a young male relative, and I don't remember it (although it sounds vaguely familiar, and is certainly well-executed).

I contrast that with the scores for Star Wars or Raiders of the Lost Ark or Conan the Barbarian, where when I hear them I know exactly what scene they played in, and can see it replay in my head if I close my eyes.

I know what you mean. The editor of that AMV, does very good jobs with his choices of music and video.

I too have a certain young male relative who is a big fan of HTTYD. My first thought was it was the first flight scene when Hiccup first flies Toothless, but some parts sounded unfamiliar to me and I wasn't sure. Went and checked it out on You Tube. I was right after all, and I think the issue is that in that scene, the music is mixed way back and the sound effects and dialogue are most of the foreground , acoustically speaking.
