A fallacy doesn't mean it's wrong, it just means that logic can't guarantee truth preservation. Fallacious reasoning could produce a true conclusion; it's just that the truth is empirical or accidental rather than guaranteed by the form of reason.
Some theories fit the facts but don't command the facts. In this case, the lack of campaign funding for candidates that are not "far right" may be part of the answer. It does not contradict any of the facts, anyway.
A comment about Paz "far right" winning in Bolivia: he wasn't the "farthest right' of the final two candidates. Left and right in Bolivia is basically the highlands versus the lowlands. La Paz versus Santa Cruz. (Colla vs. Camba).
Support for Evo's leftist party MAS (movement towards Socialism, MAS means "more" in Spanish) had collapsed completely. His party won 75 of 130 legislative seats in 2020, but won only 2 seats in 2025. For two decades, the MAS presidential candidate had won a comfortable majority of the vote. but only 3.2% in the initial presidential vote. Evo was not permitted to run.
In the final runoff Presidential election, "moderate conservative" Paz won with 55% of the vote, essentially winning the areas that had previously voted for lefty Evo and MAS. Jorge Quiroga,"farther right" than Paz, won 45% of the vote and the lowland areas such as Santa Cruz that had traditionally voted for the right.
Evo is back to his old tricks, with roadblocks stopping goods from reaching the capital of La Paz. Politics in Bolivia is never boring.

Nice correlation between USAID funding and the establishment calling their political opponents "far right."
