Question: Who more accurately portrayed the personality & character of the historical David Crockett...John Wayne in the 1960 movie, or Billy Bob Thornton in the 1960 film?

Good question. The John Wayne version is not historically accurate and wasn’t meant to be; John Wayne was really playing Odysseus.

Very interesting link. I had wondered if the very positive portrayal of the Mexican enemy was motivated in part by marketing considerations---was the film ever released in Mexico?

IMDB doesn’t have a release date for Mexico.
