Sadly that young man is already dead, at 32, reportedly from fentanyl. It’s a deadly poison that makes all illegal drugs unsafe these days. I was never inclined to them, but many musicians have been including many good ones. It’s a tragedy to lose a good one.

Luke Bell's 2016 self-titled has been one of my top ten albums since it came out. The last time he was touring, probably 2017 or 2018, I found out about him playing a venue about an hour away from me. It was only a couple hours before the show, and I decided I was a little too tired to go. He practically disappeared after that. He was just starting to play and record music again when he died. I know it's silly to act as if it's some kind of personal tragedy that I missed his show and will never have the chance to see him perform when the man lost his life, but I still regret skipping that show.
At the time of his death, there were many articles about his death that seemed vastly disproportional to his level of popularity. Not that I don't think he's undeserving of the credit he posthumously received. It was just intriguing to see the sudden interest that didn't accompany his career in life.
Like I said, I love his self-titled album and especially "The Bullfighter". However, the songs are all tinged with sadness for me now knowing we lost the man behind the music.
I'm sorry you didn't make the show. He was a bright star while he was burning.
