Anthropologists are trying to hang on to the Clovis-was-first argument for a variety of reasons - like careers and life's work for some of them - but the evidence against that is multiplying. It is reasonable to demand high standards of proof for anything that upends the status quo, but my outsider's take is that the battle is over.
There was at least one earlier migration, and possibly one that was crazy earlier than that. Like 32K

When the article said 40 miles NW of Austin, I got a little worried, but i think the recent extraordinary flooding has been a bit west of there.
