I think this story has gone far enough that releasing the memo can't possibly be enough to resolve the deadly questions raised. We're going to need to see a lot more than that to make a judgment about whether these charges are true, or whether Republicans in Congress have been raising such explosive questions without basis. One way or the other, we need to know.

It probably won't be enough, but it's a necessary step. As may be the Progressive-Democrats' wish to release their own memo on the same subject.
And I'm distrustful of the FBI's desire to suppress both on the grounds that the data in it (them) are classified. J Edgar Hoover in Seven Days in May probably is apocalyptic....

If the memo contains assertions as explosive as claimed, and if its reasoning holds up, then releasing the memo may give the necessary leverage to get the primary sources before the public.
You don't think they might be holding on to it a little longer to more strongly influence the mid-term elections?
