Gary Oldman apparently decided to reprise his famous role in The Professional while giving an interview to Playboy -- this time in words, rather than with a shotgun.
Well, I hear the hangovers get worse as you get older. Twenty years ago, blow apart a whole family on the silver screen, nobody bats an eye. Now, speak some disapproved words....

Beethoven...?
You've not seen the movie, Joe. :) I suppose I should post one of those "trigger warnings" -- but one that might really be valid. Don't watch unless you're comfortable with the kind of psychotic violence that Hollywood has come to celebrate.
A point which is not irrelevant in considering Mr. Oldman's critique of Hollywood and its decision makers, whomever they may be.
And yet, in a way, it's a good movie. There's a problem with that conclusion; I don't quite know how to resolve it.
His critic was spot on.
His apology was real and heartfelt. Many pols and hacktivists could learn a great lesson from this one incident.
But, alas, I know that the only thing they will hear is the blowing of the dog whistle yet again.
*sigh*
Hollywood needs trigger warnings because half of their directors are rapists. The other half are thus used to fund the cover up.
Usin' lovely, lovely Ludwig Van like that...? It's a sin!
For menace with some substance, I'll go with this.
