Riding through Georgia

I love the dulcimer. Have you ever listened to Maggie Sansone?

When we lived in Annapolis, I bought one of her CDs and the first or second time I played it someone actually walked up two flights of stairs and rang our doorbell to ask, "What is that beautiful music you're playing?"

This isn't her, but one of the songs from that CD:

I do know of her.

The hammered dulcimer was the one I always saw growing up in Georgia, but the Mountain Dulcimer is another very traditional Appalachian instrument. It makes do with fewer strings, by making more use of the hands to alter the sounds.
