Riding the Black Motorcycle

You know I was out riding tonight, and when I stopped and looked at my motorcycle I saw I'd worn the rear tire all the way down to the cloth. I guess I need another new tire. But I find I can't mind it. It's not just that I save the cost of a tire on gasoline, long before the tire is gone.

Maybe five things in life still matter to me. One of them is the free road.

I am about to buy a Harley. Was going to get a Triumph Daytona 675R but realised I would die.

It's a great idea. It is hard to convey how much it ends up meaning to your life.

Great song!
Got my first bike when I was 15- in pieces in a milk crate. Anybody remember those..?! Rebuilt that thing in the basement and 44 years later , by the Grace of God I am still alive and riding.

Please get a new tire- riding is a joy but like aircraft, the penalties for mistakes are severe.

What's the rush on the tire? There's still the cloth.... Like an AAF General once said, "Paint it with Merthiolate and mark it duty."

True enough.

I've already made arrangements for the tire. The only further riding I'll do on the old one is to get the bike over to my guy to have it swapped out.

That's one of my favorite songs about motorcycles. There's another version that's pretty good by The Del McCoury Band.
