Eighty-six firearms companies have joined Olympic Arms in refusing to sell arms to federal, state, or local agencies in jurisdictions that are infringing their private citizens' right to bear arms.

That's great news. Hopefully it won't lead the President to Kelo them.

Well, one way to keep the people as well armed as the government is to deny the government weapons.

But it's not as effective as keeping the people well-armed, and it can be counterproductive to the extent that it keeps the police not as well armed as the criminals.

Still, this is a good move, and maybe it'll motivate more states to better manage their weapons laws and to be more vigilant about them.

It's also interesting--and long-term good--to see Texas and Louisiana both openly encouraging weapons manufacturers to leave states like Illinois and New York in favor of Texas and Louisiana.
