Sailor at War Gives Birth to Baby Girl

She's on a carrier, apparently, which is pretty far removed from the front lines. Still and all.
“As the baby was born at sea aboard an operational unit, the main focus for the U.S. Navy, the ship and its crew is the safety and well-being of the baby and the mother," Urban said in an email.
The main focus of the US Navy and a ship deployed at war is the safety of the baby and mother. A serving Naval officer wrote that.

Don't give up the ship.

I admit to being curious as to how she went to sea pregnant. (I'm assuming she was pregnant when they shipped out, and the ship hasn't been at sea for 9 months or whatever.

Wonder what the kid's birth certificate will look like.

Eh, that's just something polite they say so all the garden clubs back home don't go into a tizzy. They'll carve out a little section so that everyone else can go back to life as usual. They'll say the right, noncontroversial things for the newspeople.

The problem, from my perspective, is what the noncontroversial things to say have become.

Major error in the statement- everyone knows the US Navy's first and foremost mission is to promote diversity and combat climate change.

Yes, just as the Army's number one priority is "combating sexual assault and sexual harassment within the ranks." It's main enemy is therefore its own ranks -- itself, in other words.

Grim, This is not related to the post. I found the story fascinating.

You need to look at the History of HMS Terror
In the war of 1812, Terror was involved in the Battle of Fort Peter and the attack on St. Marys, Georgia.
HMS Terror sank in an Artic expedition in 1845. She was just discovered this very month in very good state of preservation. look at the link.
