Obama on the South

"I think there's a reason why attitudes about my presidency among whites in Northern states are very different from whites in Southern states," Obama told Zakaria.
I assume there's some polling to back that up, but I notice that Northern states voted against his chosen successor in spite of his personal endorsement of her. States that have voted Democratic every election for decades went against him. Maybe race was the reason; certainly the demographics suggest it was a factor. But why beat up on the South when you lost Ohio and Michigan and Pennsylvania?

If we aren't evil racists, they have no other arguments.

The same article discusses the kerfuffle Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates had with Cambridge police.Recall Obama's saying the police acted "stupidly." Note that a Cambridge resident, probably a neighbor of Gates, called the police to investigate. Cambridge probably considers itself one of the least racist cities in the US, yet this happened to Professor Gates in Cambridge. Also note that Hillary got 89% of the vote in Cambridge, to Trump's 7%.

I notice that Northern states voted against his chosen successor in spite of his personal endorsement of her.

Hillary's percentage of the vote in my NE hometown was 14% lower than what Obama got- and with higher turnout in 2016.

Because when you're a narcissist who sees everything through a racial lens, as it's all about you, then a loss must be for racist reasons. And while it's true that the South didn't really vote for him either, and that it really was the losses of Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania that cost Hillary the election, the many on the left "Southern" is shorthand for racist. Nevermind that I've encountered far more vociferous racism from Northerners that I've ever seen in the South. And I was born in the North, so this isn't just personal bias.

Southern States were once a Democrat bastion. The Democrats never forget those who have betrayed their alliance, Hitler included. They didn't forgive the Vietnamese either. Nor did they forgive Americans and Arabs who fought against Islamic jihad. They didn't even forgive white people who Hussein got killed because of racism.
