It was not Conan himself who made that promise in Barbarian; it was - I believe - the Wizard. And there was a reference to another story in Destroyer but no promise it would be made. I'm not sure what the Wizard's attitude was/is toward keeping promises in general although I'm fairly sure he would keep any made to Conan himself. :+)
I suppose I was being a bit pedantic. It is a shame, though, that no more Conan movies have been made. With so many series going on and on and on (the penultimate Jurassic movie actually put me to sleep), Conan would seem ripe for a revival. I don't know, though, who could step into the lead role - which may simply mean I'm not familiar with actors today.

Unfortunately, Conan the Destroyer was not a great film. If it had been as good as the first one, we'd have likely gotten the third one as well.
