From the numbers for men and women separately, I gather that a lot of the women marry moderates (explicitly not included). Women marrying slightly older men skews the comparisons a bit.
The author pointed out that the men skew too because they often have children later; or have ones they don’t know about, which is not usually the case for women.
I first misread this graph to be suggesting that conservative children are meaner, on average. That's not what it says.
Some years ago, IIRC, I came across a study in a Berkely CA preschool, which claimed to have results to show that children who became Republican were meaner than children who became Democrat. Maybe I should look for it.
I would be interested in whether their definition of "meaner" was behavior or attitudes, specifically political attitudes. Words are violence, after all.
