I never expected to receive a Presidential pardon, but I once knew a man who had received one. Dewey Clarridge was quite proud of his. He kept it framed on the wall of his house all the days of his life.
I saw the post's title and thought this was about the Canterbury Tales entry (which I think could have easily been adapted into a fantastic Twilight Zone episode).
Yes, I intended the literary analogy. I have an unabridged audiobook of The Canterbury Tales that I used to listen to while driving. It’s a great book.
