Yuletide Food

Cimmerian... er, Scottish meat pies.

UPDATE: After an afternoon of hiking and mountain climbing, a kitchen-sink calzone.

We broke tradition and got a ham. Because half of the turkey from Thanksgiving is still in the freezer, with half the dressing. So a HoneyCrust ham arrived today, to go with sweet potatoes, cranberry salad, rolls, pecan pie, mincemeat pie, and whatever else has snuck into the house while I was writing this morning.

I'm planning a Medieval great pie with turkey and bacon and cheese and whatever else I decide to put in it; and a standing rib roast, in case anyone wants a more traditional beefy fare. Then meat pies through the 12 days, especially on New Year's.
