A golden oldie. One more Canadian contribution to culture on both sides of the 54'40. I had forgotten he died an untimely death in 1983, returning from the Kerrville [TX] Folk Festival.
Untimely, indeed. For years I only knew him from this song, and then learned he was a wonderful musician when I started looking into sea shanties and the like.
