I note the song makes reference to the Sangre de Christo mountains. Maybe we should Anglicize their name, I'd love to see "Blood of Christ" on a map. Anyway, it's one of the few places I've been to out West. The Boy Scouts own about 140,000 acres out there. It's the Philmont Scout Ranch. Wonderful place.
