The Face of Happiness

Conan is so delighted by the snow. The cat is noticeably less delighted.

I fear I side with the cats, this year. In my defense, the area went from early autumn temps to midwinter literally overnight (65F to -1 F), so I did not have time to harden off, as it were.

@ LittleRed1 - I call it the thickening of the blood every year. Even if it is only perception, it is a real thing that all of us notice up here.

Conan almost stalked me down a deer the other day, so he’s not the complete idiot that he might appear. Not complete. I’m getting fond of him, though.

Liking snow doesn't make Conan an idiot, it means he has his flaws.

The totality seems a good dog and a good partner.

I'm with Conan. The rest of you people (or are you all really cats?) are missing out.

What, exactly, is it that us cat people are missing out on?

The joy of playing in the snow, of course! Hot chocolate never tastes better than after a good snowball fight.

Conan is the bestest boy. His love of snow is nothing more than his joy at seeing a different world. Think of it - dogs see in shades of gray to white, and Conan woke up to see his world had suddenly changed to almost all white.
It smells different.
It feels different.
It even sounds different as every step he takes makes a sound.
With his winter coat in place, he does not feel the cold as those less furry do. He is embracing the change in his world curiously, fully, and joyfully.
If only the human animal were capable of such.

I promise to embrace the change back to good motorcycle weather in the most similar spirit I can manage.
