Fascinating

Today I learned that you can’t buy an ad to run in Times Square that is critical of someone without their written permission. This is true of dictators: want to complain about Xi or Putin? Not unless they consent.

What did Lenin say about selling the rope to hang themselves with?

It was true, but truer yet was that allowing this eventually creates more freedom. That is eroding, I suspect. Though I admit, the market may be powerful enough to overcome that problem after all.
