I have a few records that belonged to my grandfather that give "Hank Williams" as the artist -- not Hank Williams, Sr., but just the name of the man. He died on New Year's Eve, 1953.
I was quite grown before I knew there was such a creature as Hank Williams, Jr. For me Sr. was always the only one. My sister and I used to hear him on the Saturday morning cartoon shows, where they invited you to send in $5 to receive an album in the mail. We did it once, but never got the album.
