Actually, when you put it that way, you realize that this is the only way we ever raise children who aren't complete barbarians. If kids didn't steal from their parents, we'd have to start civilization over from scratch in every generation. Maybe that 'cultural appropriation' thing is similarly valuable?

"Cultural appropriation" used to be called the melting pot, a deeply offensive term to the lefties trying to Balkanize the US these days.
Civil war doesn't happen without a lot of Factions at each other's throat. Feature, not bug. That's why it doesn't matter who believes me or not. It's not going to change what they'll have to deal with, whether they like it or not. That's the benefit of being near or on the truth.
Actually, that's the same benefit as being dead wrong. It doesn't matter if people believe you or not; they'll still have to deal with what ends up happening.
