"Semantics"

“Let me finish, Ben. But listen. I think you are getting into semantics. Regardless of what you want to call it, an automatic or a semi-automatic weapon.”
So, conceptually, you'd be OK with me exchanging a semi-automatic weapon for a fully automatic one? There's no difference worth discussing?

Why don't we take all of the cars Democrats have and replace it with manual. It's for the good of the Earth.

This is a common problem. 90% of citizens who do not own firearms out there do NOT know the difference between fully automatic, and semi-automatic. They believe that semi-automatic refers to burst fire capability. Now, if they refuse to be taught the difference, then that's on them (and that seems to be the case with Lemon). Just the other day, I had to correct someone who thought an AR-15 was a "military grade weapon". Someone else joined the conversation and said that semi-automatic weapons were "spray and pray" type weapons, at which point I explained that most modern revolvers fit the definition of semi-automatic and actually defined semi-automatic for them. They honestly did not know.

I think a lot of the gun control nonsense would be more manageable if we better educated our citizens on the topic, rather than simply assume "they want our guns."
