Alas, there's hype involved. I don't understand it myself, unfortunately, but some sharp people think it might be useful.
Well, I was linking to the non-hype version from Quanta, not the Slashdot article. :) Quantum physics is not my field, so I'm very far from an expert. As I am able, though, I'd like to learn more.

We had a joke in school: the Optics majors were really just physics majors, and the physics majors were really just math majors. Yeah, it's all math.
