Well, to be fair, a six fingered white politician DID kill his father.

...and we care what Mr. Patimkin has to say about this because.....he pretends to be someone else on TV?

Oh.

I guess the reason to care is that this is what he's teaching people to think. If everyone understood that you shouldn't listen to celebrities about anything besides 'how to be a good actor,' that wouldn't be a problem.

People don't understand that, though. They respect him for one thing, so they think he's to be respected in general.

Whenever someone announces that they have studied something that most other people haven't, what comes out of their mouth next is nearly always biased propaganda. Anti-vaxxers and organic foodies; climate alarmists; self-proclaimed Biblical prophets; magazine-article historians. It's one of those red flags that should make you automatically suspicious.

As here: The contributions of the Muslim community to the world were finished centuries ago, and the bulk of their advances were of philosophers and scientists who were tolerated rather than encouraged by Islam. There is probably something, somewhere, that Muslims have contributed to American society, but it isn't huge.

People recognize the authority of leaders based on popularity. If other people refuse to spit on them and give them respect, people who lack the confidence to go it alone will also ape that respect and submission to authority in return for survival and protection. Even the feudal vassals figured that out.

Scientific consensus is the other side of things from single consensus authorities like cult leaders. Manipulating humans isn't all that difficult. The psychological research and development over the years have created things like multiple personality disorders and defined parameters to sociopathy.
