This is like the fandom about how the Phantom Menace should have ended, isn't it. Hollywood copies Marvel for the same reason they take ideas from Greek myths and various book series such as that wizard boy and the Lord of the RIngs saga. Evil, when it takes hold, doesn't create anything. That power is left to a different polarity.

Hollywood is creatively deficient these days.

I am not keyed into Western entertainment at this key date, so the popular internet culture that brings around it, I am also disconnected from.
Good thing there's wikipedia and movie databases, otherwise I wouldn't know what people were talking about.
