There's a lot of stuff in Turkey and that area that the local tough gov has blocked. It's some kind of national security issue.

Latin America is the same way. Sometimes these sites get occupied and stuff isn't relesaed to public.

The Nabateans were clients and then subjects of the Romans--Bowerstock's "Roman Arabia" is probably the standard introduction. There have been a few books lately that explore the trade routes from Egypt to India and down the African coast.
