It's a bad idea to infuriate a federal judge

They'll take you at your word on a lot of things if you keep your nose clean.  But you really don't want to make one think you've been lying to her.

FISC should be shut down, even if the judges are irritable about being misled.

Indeed. This Court, this Star Chamber, should cease to exist.

The judges may know that such will happen if they don't clean up this mess themselves. Yet I don't think they have the enforcement power to make others actually do this. The FBI can tell them to go pound sand, because their situation can't get any worse. they have to double-down against all these things.

The judges in the FISA court do have quite a bit of power. They've already given the FBI a deadline to clean up its act. If the FBI has not to the judges', or the chief judge's, satisfaction by that deadline, they can announce that all further warrant requests will be considered invalid without having been countersigned by the AG. They also can require the AG--not the FBI's agent--to provide proof that his FBI's warrant request is truthful and complete, else the request will be denied.

Of course, that would require a secret judge actually have gonads. And integrity.

There is an interesting contrast between Bush II and Hussein. Hussein was de facto a Leftist totalitarian, and was almost everything they said Bush II was (dark lord puppet ignoramus attacking liberties).

One of the reasons why people didn't take seriously 9/11 (due to Deep State involvement), and charges that Bush II was trying to circumvent civil liberties, is because there were no FISA violations that people could see. The system was working, apparently, as desired, because the FBI was not in active revolt vs Bush II. They had a common enemy in Islamic Jihad.

This was actually quite clever, because it made a real potential problem "go away" by having people keep spreading the disinformation that it was Bush II, and people thus got distracted looking at Bush. Well, it wasn't coming from Bush, because Bush wasn't in power during 2008-2016, when America was ruled by Hussein and Demoncrat policies.

This is the kind of shenanigan time history that old spies like Yuri Bezmenov would comprehend. It is quite a tangled web.

From yesterday's news: Judge Collyer issued another demand to the FBI on Dec. 5, which was just declassified, for information about all applications touched by Clinesmith, the FBI lawyer who doctored documents, and spanking the FBI for delaying information to the court that it was obtaining from the IG. And then, presto, she's resigning 9 weeks ahead of schedule for health reasons, and is to be replaced by an Obama-appointed judge.
