Well, apparently the young lady who introduces him at the beginning of the clip was the star of Rogue One. So it may have been a token of appreciation for her. :)
I done Syria, Afganistan, Iraq and Iran North Korea tell me where does it end Well the bodies keep piling up with every day How many more of em they gonna send
Well they send their sons and daughters off to die for some war To control the heroine Well son I hope you don’t grow up Believing that you’ve got to be a puppet to be a man
Well they cut off your hair and put a badge on your arm Strip you of your identity Tell you to keep your mouth shut boy and get in the line Meet your maker over seas
So maybe he's thinking more rebel against the incoming administration? Curious also the haircut, and all the band in black (he in jacket for that matter). Kinda got all citified modern for the show.
In another one of his songs, about being jobless and poor, he sings:
'Well it could be worse, it ain't that bad/ Least I ain't sittin' in old Baghdad/ In the middle of a hot damn desert/ Sittin' in a tank.'
...which is indeed unpleasant, especially in the summer.
As for which administration he's rebelling against, it could be all of them. But Trump might not be as inclined to foreign wars as even Obama was, although truly we can't be sure either way.

Well. Pretty sure they weren't expecting that.
Cute idea using the Starwars "Rebel" symbol on the guitar. Can't use the stars and bars anymore can you?? Heh.

That's what they want you to think.
Heh.
I dunno- here are the lyrics for that song:
Call To Arms
Sturgill Simpson
I done Syria, Afganistan, Iraq and Iran
North Korea tell me where does it end
Well the bodies keep piling up with every day
How many more of em they gonna send
Well they send their sons and daughters off to die for some war
To control the heroine
Well son I hope you don’t grow up
Believing that you’ve got to be a puppet to be a man
Well they cut off your hair and put a badge on your arm
Strip you of your identity
Tell you to keep your mouth shut boy and get in the line
Meet your maker over seas
