Bloomberg says when leftists raise taxes on the poor, it’s good because then the poor will live longer because they can’t afford as many things that “kill them.”

That will go over about as well as Romney's remark about the 47% who don't pay income taxes.

Wait.... so income inequality must be stopped because it's the source of all evil/unfairness.

Also, it must be increased through taxation because....

In a way it reminds me of reading about the objections raised when rural free postal delivery was first discussed. One complaint was that farmers would be able to get city things more easily, and would get used to luxuries, and would either 1) stop working so hard and fall into corruption or 2) want more luxuries and would move to the cities and would fall into corruption.

It's like letting the housemaids wear silver buckles. Everyone's always threatening to rise above his station.

By Bloomberg's logic, then, in order to maximize the benefit, our poor should be taxed at 100%, and our non-taxpaying poor should lose their refundable tax credits.

As is typical of Progressive-Democrats, though, Bloomberg carefully chose to not say what his limiting principle is.
