Consciousness vs. "Fissiparous Seething"

A reasonably good summary of the problem that consciousness poses for our physical understanding of reality. It will be familiar to most of you, but it's worth going over again because it remains one of the more interesting problems.

Consciousness is a stumbling idiot compared to the processing power of the other brain cores. It's generally not accepted, because the ego and the identity, is composed of the conscious, not the subconscious, will.
