Perhaps You Have Never Heard of John Kerry

The Times of Israel has a piece called "John Kerry: The Betrayal."
It seemed inconceivable that the secretary’s initiative would specify the need to address Hamas’s demands for a lifting of the siege of Gaza, as though Hamas were a legitimate injured party acting in the interests of the people of Gaza — rather than the terror group that violently seized control of the Strip in 2007, diverted Gaza’s resources to its war effort against Israel, and could be relied upon to exploit any lifting of the “siege” in order to import yet more devastating weaponry with which to kill Israelis.

Israel and the US are meant to be allies; the US is meant to be committed to the protection of Israel in this most ruthless of neighborhoods; together, the US and Israel are meant to be trying to marginalize the murderous Islamic extremism that threatens the free world. Yet....
I can understand your confusion. The Secretary of State is the position of highest honor in the United States government, the highest-ranking position that is appointed instead of elected. Now any demagogue can get elected; but to be appointed the head diplomat, whose word speaks for the nation, is to be entrusted with a position of extraordinary honor.

Nevertheless, you must understand, this is John Kerry. This is a man who swore he had seen and participated in great crimes of war in Vietnam, which he was obligated to report to his chain of command: but he made no such reports. So he is either a criminal of the worst kind, a murderer most foul who broke his nation's most sacred laws against his sworn oath as an officer; or he is a liar who has slandered his brothers in arms, for personal advantage.

Either way, by his own words he deserves a scoundrel's death. Instead he has been elevated to the position of highest honor in our nation's government. That is our fault. I can understand your confusion. I can. It should never have been this way.

Akame Ga Kill, has a fitting answer to such.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that.

It is distressing, though, that fate sends such rewards -- and not just punishments -- to such a character as this.

I was browsing over at Reddit, and found a post for the "Winter Soldier" "documentary," which drew a number of exactly the kind of remarks you would expect.

Somebody who is doing research on the topic for publication wrote in that most of the information in the "documentary" had been debunked.

This drew the response, "Are you calling these young men liars?"

In a word, yes.

These days, it's easy to watch. Pretty simple for even one episode.

In 1985, they had to smuggle illegaly copied VHS tapes with fan translations, but now it's the 21st century.

Kerry in 2004 had an interesting story. He said something like before his 4 months in the Swift Boats was up on his PT whatever boat, he saw a Vietcong on the shoreline, put his boat up the side, then ran out and capped the target in the head.

For someone in theater for 4 months that had no access to ground intel, how did he know who was Vietcong and who wasn't? 98% probability it was just some fisherman fishing for his family from the local village. Everybody in the Democrat party was talking about War Hero Kerry vs Bush the war criminal. I was kind of bemused at the comparison, some war hero for a self admitted war criminal.

What Kerry and Obama seem to have golfed and yachted through, and what the Times of Israel also has missed, is that Hamas merged into the Palestinian Authority under the PA's flag and thereby gained a measure of political...legitimacy.

However.

In missing that, these worthies have also missed that the PA became a terrorist organization (much more overtly than heretofore) prosecuting a terrorist war and thereby forfeited such political legitimacy it might have accrued to the point of that merger. Not understanding the unity government with which these are dealing is confounding the confusion in a wider range of dimensions.

On the other hand, elevating a motor boat skipper to the exalted reaches of our government increases the public nature and the depth of his failure when that comes.

Invite him in. Let him talk. As you say, the damage he and Obama are doing is on us--it's on us to fix it. Loudly.

Eric has it: it's not just Kerry; it's Obama. Obama absolutely despises the US and all it stands for.

So we suffer through Kerry, Holder, HHS, IRS, EPA, INS, and OMB heads who are varying degrees of revolutionary Marxists, as is their leader.

To Israel, the Administration is an existential threat. I think the same can be said for the US, although it may take a bit longer.

The Left would still be as powerful, with or without Hussein. The Left also has dictators a 1000 times worse than Hussein, waiting to be slotted in.
