Oil boom
Texas and North Dakota now produce nearly half of all the oil in the United States, and would rank number five worldwide if they were a single country. Guess who would shut down all this production if he could possibly figure out how. One reason he can't figure out how is that none of it is happening on federal land, which is a good reason to think carefully about how much federal land there is.

Which didn't prevent He Whose Name We Will Not Mention from attempting to take credit for the increase in oil production- which occurred on private lands. During this time, production on public lands was stagnant to declining,
Also recall that in the aftermath of the BP Macondo blowout, Interior Secretary Salazar misrepsented the findings of experts on the blowout when Salazar stated that the experts recommended closing down exploration in the Gulf. The experts had said no such thingm for very good reasons.
Such as BP having neglected to follow standard industry procedures during the fiasco. It was a case of a rogue company trying to bend the rules of accepted procedure, not of accepted procedures not working. Which unfortunately was BP's way of operating in a number of instances. Some of which were reported in the papers, some of which I was personally told by a former BP employee.
But doesn't Texas belong to Mexico now?
BP is another example of government + capitalist robber barons at work.
All the evil oil companies, coincidentally, work with Leftist alliance members.
