Honky Tonk Angels, and Other Glories

How about a little rockabilly this morning?

This next band appears to be Belgian, to judge from what I've been able to dig up on them, but they seem to have the spirit more or less right.  That doesn't always happen when Europeans try on American mythology.

Like the Belgians- they do seem to have it right. Sounds like they may have spent some time in the U.S. One lyric mentions Zabriskie Point, which is a location in Death Valley (a beautiful painted badlands).

You ever seen the Japanese try on American Mythology?

As a matter of fact, I once did: I passed through Narita airport, and found a Marlboro display staffed by a young Japanese lady dressed in what she took to be the manner of a cowgirl. It was something like crossing the West with the Wizard of Oz -- except instead of ruby slippers, it was ruby everything.

Indeed- they have a way of taking it over the top. Somehow it then becomes Japanese in it's own way.
