Still more of the feel-good genre, with thanks to brother Gringo.
(This one I usually hear Willie Nelson do, but obviously he was following Wills' lead.)

When I worked in the far western part of Flat State, the regional NPR radio station had a local program on Saturdays called "Western Swing and Other Things" hosted by Allen Bailey. He was a character and a half, and played everything from Bob Wills to the Austin Lounge Lizards to the soundtrack from Ken Burns' _The Civil War_. It was a hoot, and a great introduction to a lot of good (or at least fun) music.
(I do love a steel guitar.) Leon McAuliffe, the steel guitarist in Steel Guitar Rag, was one of the first to use an electrified steel guitar.Early History of the Steel Guitar.
