Americana

My sister is up in Seattle for some reason, and she sent this photo that she took yesterday afternoon.

Brings back memories- that globe is on the old Seattle Post Intelligencer building. Seattle used to be a small, quirky and wonderful city to wander. Lot's of rough edges, being a shipping town , but without the simmering hatred of a lot of bigger cities. Within a few blocks on First Ave. one could buy a beer, buy a obscure map, buy a rare Japanese antique, pawn it, and get outfitted for an Alaskan adventure.

It may be turtles all the way down, but it's eagles all the way up!
