Had my septic tank pumped the other day and remarked to the guy that septic, sewer and trash workers had done more for civilization than every politician put together since time began.
So what they perceive as an insult, some perceive as a compliment. I wonder if it it works the other way. For example, if we call them odious mendacious backstabbing evil weasel lickers, do they interpret it as a compliment?
Amen! A garbage truck sprang a leak (door in the back shorted and opened part way.) G-d bless the gentlemen who were out at 0630 this morning shoveling the sacks into a different truck and picking up the loose bits (pizza boxes et al) and tossing those in as well.

The Romans named a goddess for the work of the sewer.

I guess we'll have to try it and see how they react. If they look pleased, we'll know.
